Q. How do I find the paper I am looking for?
A. Just choose the Newspaper you would like in the order form. Choosing 3 Newspaper choices or leaving it to us to find ANY newspaper in your exact date (this option is available in the order form) increases the likelihood of your newspaper being available. Where relevant, be sure to name the City, Date and Year that you are looking for. Top

Q. Is this the whole paper, or just the front cover?
A. This is the complete edition of the paper that was printed on that date and not a reproduction. Sunday papers have only the main sections in them. Newspapers published to mark historical significance and of famous dates may cost more. Top

Q. Can you just tell me if a paper is available, and then I will place an order?
A. Unfortunately we cannot provide availability information. We want to prevent the event of spending valuable time and cost in extensive searching for a newspaper without a purchase order guarantee. Newspapers are not guaranteed until an order has been placed. Please also read our policies before ordering. Top

Q. Can you tell me if there is a specific article or advertisement in a particular newspaper?
A. Unfortunately we cannot provide that information as all newspapers are stored and bound for authenticity. We suggest that you research your local library or archive for information. Top

Q. What happens if I order a paper?
A. Here is our order procedure. We submit your request to our Warehouse for an Archival Search to see if that edition is available. This takes about 3-5 business days. If the edition is found, we will ship you the newspaper as soon as possible via UPS. If the requested paper is not found, we will advice you accordingly of what newspaper is available in that same date. At this point, you have the choice of having the newspaper shipped out to you or canceling the order. Please also read our policies before ordering. Top

Q. What will my charges be?
A. Your charges are for the Newspaper in whatever Presentation Style you choose, plus the shipping costs for the paper via United Parcel Service. The shipping costs will vary depending upon the Service Level and the Presentation Style selected. Top

Q. The newspaper I got is "flaking" at the edges, what happened?
A. The "flaking" around the edges of the paper is a natural part of the aging process. Some newspapers have a tendency to do that more than others. Some papers will yellow faster than others, too. It depends on many factors: heat, humidity, the ink, and the rag content of the paper used. The older papers sometimes fare better than the more recent ones due to higher rag content in the paper. We like to think that a certain amount of aging to the paper gives it character, charm, and an antique feel. Just like an old photo: it may look worn, and maybe a little ragged around the edges, but it still has the same meaning, importance and nostaliga despite the flaws. Top

Q. I wanted a recent paper (1985), but you said they were rare. Why?
A. The more recent the newspaper (1950's to Present), the more difficult it is to find! In the 1950's, microfilm was introduced as a way to store back issues of the newspaper. This resulted in less quantity of physical newspapers needing to be archived. Therefore, limited stock of newspapers are available for these dates and if there aren't availability for a particular newspaper, it could be a while until a newspaper of that sort is found again. Q. Can I purchase extra accessories to protect my newspapers?
